IMMUNE FUNCTION
Viridian’s Soil-Association certified, wild harvested Kelp (‘knotted wrack’ or ‘whistle wrack’) is sourced from the pristine Norwegian waters surrounding the famous Lofoten Islands. This high quality brown seaweed (genus – Phaeophyta) is harvested above the Arctic Circle, i.e. where the Midnight Sun offers unique light conditions during the short summer season – a host of complex compounds such as vitamins and carotenoids are synthesised – before harvesting at the most nutritious point in the growth cycle.
No dyes or other additives are used and nothing is taken away in the production process of the seaweed meal, which provides a 100% natural product in the true sense.
The harvesting is carried out by paddlewheel driven harvesters, and is cut (not dredged) above the seabed, and only the fresh kelp plants floating up to surface are picked up. This method is environmentally sustainable and ensures that only fresh seaweed free from contamination is used as raw material in theproduct.
